Today our family had tickets to go to the Rexburg Temple Open House. Our tickets were for 8:00 a.m. and since we live at least an hour and 15 minutes away we had to leave at 6:30. We were all very tired, but we were so excited to go inside the temple that it was easy to get everyone up and ready on time. It is a beautiful temple! When we got there it was still a little bit dark outside so the temple was lit up. We started out in the chapel where they showed us a little video about temples then we got to go up a long covered tunnel to get up to the temple. Our favorite room was the Celestial room. We could imagine how special it would be to all be together not only in the temple someday but when we die. In the sealing room we stood and looked in the mirror and we could see our family going on forever and ever! We talked about how great it is to be an eternal family and how we want our family to be together forever. We don't want any missing faces in the real Celestial kingdom.
The Rexburg temple is special to us because Dave and I met at Ricks 14 years ago. Our first date was on January 23, 1994 and for the last couple of years we've gone to "Me & Stans" where we had our first date to celebrate, so we wanted to take the kids there after we went to the temple. We were sad to see they've closed it down. No more yummy scones with honey butter. We drove around the campus and showed the kids where we used to live and saw some of the places we spent a lot of time -- the Snow Building especially (the music building)! We had to rush home and get the kids back to school, but it was a great morning!

What a beautiful temple. That sounds like a fun little family outing...
Wow! I feel the spirit just reading this. I'm still surprised that you left at 6:30! That must've meant that you had to get everyone up at like 4:00, since you have a tendency to be late. No offense.
