Christmas Fun

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?
At first I do paper and have cute bows and everything matchy matchy, but with 7 kids I start to get tired of it all and pull out the gift bags. They still look cute!
2. Real tree or Artificial?
FAKE! It's easy and less messy. I have a great wax melter thing that smells as good as a real tree. We love it!
3. When do you put up the tree?
Always the day after Thanksgiving.
4. When do you take down the tree?
Dave would leave it up all year, but I start getting anxious by New Years to have my house back to normal.
5.Do you like eggnog?
Love it, but only one glass on Christmas Eve. We all love mint truffle hot chocolate though and we drink it whenever we come in from the cold, or sometimes in the morning we drink it while we sit on the heater.
6. Favorite gift received as a child?
My dad made me a doll house. It was so awesome! My favorite part was the balcony out the upstairs window. I used to have the mom and dad go out on that balcony and kiss....maybe that's why we have a deck off our kitchen now! Hee hee!
7. Do you have a nativity scene?
Used to but pieces broke so we don't put it up any more...sad!
8. Hardest person to buy for?
My parents. It seems like they have everything they need or want, and I don't want to get them any cluttery things for the house or fattening foods......any ideas???
9. Easiest person to buy for?
Ellie (baby) because we have lots of toys and all the things a baby needs so I just buy her lots of cute clothes and she doesn't ever feel disappointed. She just loves the wrapping paper anyway.
10. Mail or e-mail Christmas cards?
Mail definitely. I like the homemade cards so even though it's a form letter it feels personal.
11. Worst Christmas gifts you ever received?
Can't think of anything.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie?
So many good ones. We love watching them all December. I think my favorite is "It's a Wonderful Life". It always makes me cry.
13. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?
Yep. I'll never tell what it was though!
14. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?
No diets in December. I love to try a little of all the goodies that come. My favorite favorite thing though is candy cane ice cream. YUM!
15. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?
We open pajamas and a family game on Christmas Eve to play together. The kids each pick a name of a brother or sister and they do secret services for that person through the month then on Christmas Eve they tell each other who they had and give a gift to the person also. It's so fun! The rest of the presents we open Christmas morning.
16. Favorite for Christmas dinner?
Ham, scalloped potatoes, pretzel salad, veggie tray, egg nog, love it all!
17. What do you want for Christmas this year?
Celine Dion and Josh Groban's new CD and a new coat. (That's exactly what I got!)
