it happened in December.....but I'm blogging about it in January (part 2)

Christmas Jammies
I had to take a few pictures because at least one person was being silly in each picture and I couldn't decide which was the best one. We always pose the same way also. Notice how much taller Corina is than Akayla. It's about 4 inches now.

Yep, we have the tradition of getting new pajamas on Christmas Eve. We also get a new family game and we play it together that night. We always have a yummy meal of ham, augratin potatoes, salad, and rolls. We always eat by candlelight. We usually either act out the Christmas story, or we read it together. Then we hop in the car with lots of blankets and we look at the lights all around town. We especially like to go to a place called Santa Claus Lane. All the houses there are crazy lit up. One of the houses always wins some special award for the year, and it's fun to see which one it is. The very first house has a window just like the ones you see at the mall with moving elves, Santa and Mrs. Claus. We sing Christmas songs in the car as we're driving. When we get home we always watch The Santa Clause and drink hot chocolate. The kids all sleep together in the theater room and Dave and I go upstairs to wrap presents and fill stockings.

This year all the gifts were already wrapped and after the stockings were hung and the presents put out by the tree we were excited to actually get a good long sleep this year. Then I realized we still had Elli's big gift in a box - a kitchen set. We hoped it only had a few pieces to screw together, but it was in tons of tiny pieces with about 25 steps. Aaarrrggghhh!!! We started at about midnight and didn't get to bed until after 3:00 a.m.

good things:
new warm jammies
giggly kids in the car
singing Christmas songs together
