My joy is great

Today I was reading my scriptures before starting my day and I found a verse that made me happy. 3 Nephi 27:30.....(probably not a much quoted scripture) that says, "And now, behold, my joy is great, even unto fulness, because of you.....yea, and even the Father rejoiceth, and also all the holy angels, becuase of you." It made me happy to think of the Savior and our Father in heaven rejoicing and feeling joy. Last week I was feeling overwhelmed about the responsibilities I have.....7 kids, homeschooling, tons of after school activities, homework, cleaning the house, cooking meals, laundry, teaching violin and piano, hubby in school, etc.! After talking to my mom and realizing every mom experiences those feelings and that she remembers feeling overwhelmed at times when she was raising a large family, I was reminded of how much I love my life even though it is tough sometimes. I enjoy being a mother and a wife and experiencing all these great things with my family. I took some time today to read all the scriptures about feeling joyful. My favorite was in D & C 42:61. "If thou shalt ask, thou shalt receive revelation upon revelation, knowledge upon knowledge, that thou mayest know the mysteries and peacable things -- that which bringeth joy, that which bringeth life eternal." I know that the scriptures can bring us that peace and joy and that one day our joy will be full and complete when we have the opportunity to sit at the Savior's feet and leave the trials of this earth behind.

When I feel overwhelmed and inadequate I try to remember that someone knows me and my weeknesses and has prepared me for what I must face. I Love Ether 2:25 as a nice reminder when things seem like to much and just so you know others view you as a super mom!

Good to know everyone has those feelings, Ang. We have busy never-ending responsibilities but we couldn't be happier. It's a good life! I think I'll look up some of those scriptures. Thanks.
