Fun on the Fourth: Frisbees, Ferraras, Fabulous Food, and Fireworks!!!

Sorry about all the pictures -- this is another long one!!

I have decided that the 4th of July is my favorite holiday. I love Christmas, but it's cold outside! I definitely prefer being able to play outside, make great food on the grill, and watch fireworks!!

*We always have a ward breakfast in the morning with a patriotic program. *We always go to the parade and cheer for all the floats and high school bands. *We always dress up in red, white & blue. *We always have watermelon and homemade ice cream. *We always do our own little firework show while we sit on our camping chairs. *We always do lots of sparklers and try to get pictures of the kids playing with them. *We always (since we've lived here) gone up the hill where the houses aren't built and have the best view of the BEST FIREWORKS SHOW IN IDAHO!!!! *We always sing the National Anthem and other patriotic songs as a family. *Dave and I always get emotional and giggle at each other.

This year after the breakfast Dave and the kids played frisbee while I visited. They were trying to do all kinds of fancy tricks that I couldn't capture on my camera (darn delay!).
We had Matt, Jim & Amber over for an awesome dinner (I LOVE OUR GRILL!!!) and they watched the fireworks with us. It was a great day!!!

good things:
celebrating freedom
yummy grilling recipes
no stress

WOW!
You guys had quite the 4th of July! I can't say the same about us. I mean, I know we were in South Dakota, but I wish we could've had fireworks.
It didn't even seem like the 4th.
Let me just say, all your kids look fabulous in their red, white, and blue.
And, Akayla looks gorgeous in that one picture up there. I couldn't even tell it was her! When I saw it up close, I'm like: "WHOAH! How are you gonna keep the boys away from her!?!?"
But, I like all your fun traditions as well. I think I should become a Ferrara (Just temporarily, until Mom notices I'm gone...)

It is so odd for me to see people doing fireworks after living down south for so many years! It looks like you had a blast.

Nice! Sounds like a lot of fun. My 4th was awful! I spent 24 hours on planes, and I didn't get to see any fireworks. At least someone had a good time!

I love what the 4th of July represents but I HATE THE HEAT! It is too ridiculously hot in July! I prefer snow and winter ANYDAY!

Sounds like a wonderful day and night for you...I told you about our wierd 4th of July. Do you get the feeling that Genelle wishes she were part of your family? She wants a little more action than we provide around here I think. Poor girl...old parents. M.

Looks like you had a lot of fun. I've been to the Idaho Falls 4th of July, that one is pretty cool. We went to a town called Parkville, missouri and watched the fireworks, and they go off right by the Missouri River. Pretty cool, except Corianne got chiggers.
