What is Angela up to now?

Now that the kids are all in school I'm sure you all would love to know what I'm doing with my free time............

  • bon-bons & soap operas (just kidding, I haven't even turned the tv on!)

  • daily graham crackers & milk with my two little ones (one of our favorite little treats), and Chutes & Ladders or whatever we feel like playing!

  • pilates workout while my little girls play barbies in the same room

  • a-room-a-day organizing

  • I'm caught up on my laundry

  • My house is clean (until the kids get home from school, then suddenly we have 5 backpacks, 5 pairs of shoes, 5 pairs of socks, 5 math books, 5 stacks of pencils, an electric sharpener, hair ribbons, bread, peanut butter, and apple cores ALL OVER THE PLACE! Seriously, it's not that bad, but we have to re-train everyone to put their stuff where it belongs!)

  • volunteering at the school -- I'm the PTO treasurer this year (groan!), and I am assisting the music teacher a couple times a week

My afternoons & evenings are still busy because I teach for a few hours every day, then I help kids with homework and practicing, and I'm carting kids to lessons, gymnastics, YW, scouts, etc. I decided to play in the Idaho State Civic Symphony again this season since my baby is weaned finally, and that's JUST FOR ME!

I've also been taking a lot of time organizing my music lessons schedule..........I'm so excited about it! Each of my students comes for an hour each week. They have a 30 minute private lesson, then they have a computer lab. I've spent hours putting together a syllabus for the computer lab that has weekly assignments for each level (and instrument) for an entire year. This way I am confident that I have all my bases covered. They will each have theory, ear training, sight reading, music history, technic, and review. In the spring they will each take 3 tests to earn a Certificate of Merit. The tests will include theory, performance, and ear training/technic. My friend from High School (Heidi Knight Neal) and I will test our students together and judge each other's students on their performances. Each student that earns the highest score on the 3 tests will receive a trophy. It's been a lot of work but I think it will be a great experience for our students!

My hubby keeps worrying that I'm doing too much and getting too busy, but I feel a lot less stress because I don't have to spend hours each day doing school with kids and not getting other things done.

good things:

naptime - the house is SOOO quiet!

my 2 little girls

no fighting

Good for you. I am very impressed with how well you handle everything. You seem really busy, but at the same time you seem to like what you do and so it seems to make it all better. Enjoy it all!!!

Sounds like a full schedule to me! Good for you to be caught up with the laundry... that's my job for tomorrow. You are busy but happy... me too!

Sorry, I forgot to comment.
So anyway, I'm sorry for the busy schedule! Well, at least you have time to excercise in all the... excitement.
And, of course you gotta have those graham crackers every day, huh? You must have one of those jumbo economy sizes that never run low no matter how many you eat.
But, the piano lessons are going good, I guess. Moving it downstairs was a samrt move, indeed.

Genelle - you're not very samrt!

Just kidding

Wow, Ang. Sounds like fun! It's great you have time to bond with Mars and Elli. I'm sure they are loving the attention. And you have time to exercise. That's great! I wish you lived closer so you could teach me piano :)

Okay, how do you do pilates with your kids in the same room?? BOTH of my kids think they have to climb on my stomach while I'm working out!

Very impressive:-)

Hey again Angela,
I haven't had time to read anyone's blogs for a while. I thought about you while I was visiting my family in I.F. I seriously thought of trying to look you up.
Sounds like you are an amazing music teacher- wish you lived here!
Still sounds like you have alot going on with school- congrats on the laundry (I am ALMOST there).
Still love how you have 'good things' on the bottom.

I feel like we have switched places :) I'm only homeschooling one boy, but it feels like I'm never done with anything now...ugh... oh well, i'm grateful for a great example that you have shown me :D And I'm grateful for the wisdom to do what my children need.

I'm so glad that you can have that time with your little ones. Wish we were closer, then you could teach my boys piano and Dave could teach Brandon trombone :D

Hi - I found your blog from Carissa's. I know her from when she was serving in Hawaii. My husband and I used to take the missionaries hiking. (I am sure we will continue to do so once my husband gets home). Well, I have been reading your blog for some time now and I just wanted to say - you are absolutely amazing. I have my own business, thus my own time and have no kids but seems like have not enough time to do half of what you do in one day.
