Awww....how cute!
I had a birthday last week. It was on one of my most stressful and busy days so I didn't even want to acknowledge it that day. I wanted to pretend that my birthday was Saturday so my family could pamper me (my dream day!) by making all the meals and cleaning up the messes. My real birthday turned out so great though - it really threw me off! I got so many emails, facebook messages, and phone calls. I felt so loved!
My husband is no cook, so I usually make my own birthday cheesecake (my moms yummy recipe - I've had it every year since I was 10). This year one of my best friends surprised me while I was in the middle of teaching (it happened to be her own kids!!) with a YUMMY cake and birthday cards written by her sweet kids! It was a great day!
Saturday came around and I didn't even feel the need to have a birthday day...but I got a knock on my bedroom door in the morning and there was Adri and the little girls with a tray of food (scrambled eggs, a cup of milk and a bowl of corn flakes - SO CUTE!) ,so I could have breakfast in bed. It totally made me cry! Dave took care of all the meals for the day and the kids all cleaned the house. We went hiking (our favorite fall activity!) and had a picnic. MY FAMILY IS THE BEST!!!! I never did make my cheesecake....I may just have to do that this weekend!
good things:
homemade cards
thoughtful friends and kids
Tanner's card saying "Happy 29th birthday"! Smart kid!
my sweet hubby following my crazy whims!
