*He is really close to earning his Webelos and his Arrow of Light in scouts
*Tanner says he hates school, but he comes home happy and does his homework right when he gets home. He is getting really good grades, and his teacher says he's a great kid and he's really easy to have in class. I can't believe he'll be in 6th grade next year!
*He performed at my piano quartet recital on Saturday and played his pieces perfectly. He was very nervous, so I didn't complain about him performing in his coat (I was just happy to get him up there)!
*Tanner has started learning the trombone with his dad. He is pretty excited about being able to play a duet! The first couple of weeks were hilarious - it sounded like a sick elephant was in his bedroom. He's doing pretty well now!
*He is in basketball right now and he loves it! His team hasn't won a lot of games, but he's learning great things. He is fast and he has a good shot. If he could live in his basketball uniform and sleep with his ball he'd be a happy guy!!!
*Tanner is still super creative. His lego creations are amazing, and he comes up with so many cool things (like an air powered jet with a water bottle and some old tubes & wood he found). He's in an X-Men phase so he made Xavier's School out of legos, and all the characters. He's also very artistic and likes to draw funny pictures to put up on his wall. I used to not allow him to put things on his wall (clutter), but have since decided it is his room and his space and he should be able to have it the way he wants!
*His best friend moved a couple of hours away, but they e-mail and write letters. They've been able to get together a few times since then. He has other friends at school that he likes to hang out with and play basketball with. He's okay with just doing his own thing though. He actually enjoys playing with his little sisters. He's a fun happy kid who is pretty easy to please.
*Tanner is very sweet with young kids. He has several younger boys that idolize him at church. They follow him around and just think he's the coolest guy! He loves it and is really cool with them. He is also really cute with Mars & Elli and the little neighbor kids. He lets them hang out with him and play in his room.
*He is the only one in the family to have his own room. He changes it around and moves the furniture every few days and always posts rules of his room on his door. He's pretty good about keeping it clean (ish) and doesn't mind the girls coming in his room as long as they don't break his lego creations.
*I haven't given up on having another boy....but, I am so grateful to have my one son! It is so fun to have a boy. He's becoming such a cool person and I'm excited to see what the next 10 years will bring!

I love that boy! He's such a great example to Ashton and all the other little boys in primary. What a good job you've done raising him.
What an awesome boy you have...watch out when he gets a little older cuz you won't be able to keep all the girls away! If only we lived closer...he and Tank and Jarom could build to their hearts content! The only toys my boys really have are bionicles and star wars legos!
What a cute picture of he and Dave playing a duet! I love that he is learning the trombone. That's awesome that he is so creative with his legos. He's such a good big brother. I always see him helping his younger sisters. He's such a sweet boy.
