potty training

I have successfully potty trained 6 of my children. Some have been easier than others. Some have made me despise potty training and want to avoid it for as long as possible!

I tried twice to get Elli potty trained before the baby came. Weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth comes to mind. She did not want to sit on the little potty or the big potty. I finally decided just to wait until after the baby since it always throws kids off a little anyway.

This past week Dave went back to work and I was on my own. I really didn't want to deal with potty training, but Elli decided she wanted to wear "big girl underwears". She put them on herself, and since that day has not had a single accident. WHAT?!!! She totally comes running when she has to "go bafroom". She prefers going in my toilet so we'll have to help her venture out into the others bathrooms one of these days.

Maybe potty training isn't so bad!

good things:
only having to change 1 kid's diapers
saving money on diapers
no more weeping & wailing

I'm so glad for you to have one less thing to do after having a new baby. I loved it when Emily decided she was ready too - it was so much easier than having to remember to ask her if she needed to go all the time. I want to come see your new little one now that I'm not sick.

That is too funny. That's what Sariah did too and I wanted to die. All that torture for her to just one day decide she was a big girl and going to do it. Too funny. Hope you and the little one are going great!

Isn't nice when they just decide for themselves? I had one I had to fight and one that was just done. Game over. Loved that.

THAT is how potty training should be! What a good mom you must be (That is a given concidering the 8 kids!) And can I just say how unfair it is that I am having to potty train Emma twice because of the surgery! There, I said it! I feel better now! =)

yeehaw! That is the greatest potty training. It gives hope to all the rest of us who are STILL cleaning up the pee pee that just doesn't quiet make it to the potty.
