sigh

My family is getting better.

I seem to be the only one who isn't.

I have a sinus infection that just will not go away.
I still have a fever and a lot of congestion.
The worst thing is my 5-week long cough and having troubles breathing.
So along with the terrible sinus headache I also am extremely dizzy!

My family has been so great just taking care of things and letting me rest.

Last night Dave set me up a bed downstairs in our theater room so that I could sleep with no interruptions.

At about 2 a.m. I could hear Lea crying.

She was having troubles breathing so Dave cleaned her out and she didn't like it at all!

She cried for a long time after that even though Dave was taking care of her, and I wished so much that I could be holding her.

I was so dizzy I couldn't stand let alone walk all the way upstairs and try to hold her.

She did finally go to sleep and she was fine.
She loves her daddy and he is really good with her.

But daddy just isn't mommy.

I love my job as a mom.... I love cooking and cleaning and driving my kids places. I love helping with homework and teaching them. I love reading with them and playing with them. I love our conversations and laughing together. I love helping them practice and hearing them read. I love watching them play together and tease each other. I love discussing the gospel and sharing our testimonies. I love being the one they want to tell everything to and I love hearing their thoughts.

This morning my girls brought a crying Lea to me. She practically jumped out of their arms into mine where she contentedly snuggled up and promptly fell right to sleep.
I was in heaven.

I'm really missing being the mom.

Here's hoping I can get back on my feet and be myself again!!

good things:
my willing children
long hot steamy showers
holding my baby while she sleeps

I hope you get better soon. It sure stinks being sick! Our family is passing around a new bug this week :( I'm sure glad that its sunny outside to make the day less miserable.

Kay--thinking you need to go back to the dr. and get a chest xray done. Cause your symptoms now sound like pnuemonia (sp?) to me (I had similar symptoms last year--and that's what it was).

Stronger meds may be needed!

Ugh--hope you feel better soon!

Hugs! It sounds like the crap I had last year and it was AWFUL! Have you tried Mucinex? (around the clock do not let it lapse)every six hours on the hour! That helped me the most out of everything! Hugs if you are on week 5 and it is the same thing I had hang on you will feel better in about 2 and the cough will finally subside in about 6...HUGS!

Oh yuck... no fun to be the sick mommy. My friend told me it should be illegal for mom's to get sick. I agree. I'm glad you have the older girls who can help life continue while you are down and out. It seems like family life just can't go on without the mommy.

I found your blog through Serena's. I love how you put "good things" at the end of your posts. You are such an amazing mom. I have always looked up to you. I want 8 kids, and I want them to sit perfectly in church, like yours! :) You have a very cute family.
