1st day of school (2011/12) take 2

all my school kids - Akayla, Corina, Tanner, Adri, Anna, Mars

School is officially in session now and I have to admit......I'm mourning my children being gone.

I love having them home, and if it was the right thing for them I would totally still homeschool them.

But it's not.

So, last night we had traditional father's back-to-school blessings.
Many tears were shed by my oldest 2 daughters.
They are so sensitive and feel the spirit deeply.
I'll admit, tears were shed by their mom & dad also.

Akayla – age 16 junior
how tall: 5’2"

Favorite School Subject(s): seminary & choir

Classes taking this year: history, english, broadcast technology, seminary, concert choir, nutrition & foods, child development (sounds like a much more fun year than last year!)

Corina – age 15 sophomore
how tall: 5’ 8“
Favorite Food: pasta
Favorite Movie(s): Lord of the Rings & Mask of Zorro, Harry Potter, all Jane Austen movies, etc.
Favorite Song(s): Love you like a love song, My Dilemma & Shake it Up
Favorite School Subject: Choir & Seminary

I decided to ask Corina what her favorite book is since she read at least 60 books this summer (not exaggerating)

Favorite book: Jane Eyre

Classes taking this year: Algebra 2 Honors, AP World History, Concert Choir, AP Biology, Honors English, & Seminary (sounds like a really hard year to me, but she's extremely determined to keep her 4.0 and graduate with honors)

Tanner – age 13 8th grade
how tall: 5’0”
Favorite Food: pizza, spaghetti, pesto pasta, & tomato soup

Adriana – 6th grade

Favorite School Subject: don’t have one

Classes taking this year: English, Spelling, Honors Math, Social Studies, Choir, PE, Health, Reading & Science

Adriana putting Lea in the bath before she left for school because she knows it's really hard for me

My kids surprising me with a clean house when I got home last night

Finally getting to sleep last night & determining not to eat chili again until I'm not pregnant any more - heart burn is torture!
