Junior Prom

Akayla was asked by 3 boys to Prom this year.
I know...... poor girl.

Maybe the rule is that you should go with the first one who asks you, but not this time.
The first boy who asked just casually asked if she wanted to go to Prom with him.....in class.

The second boy (a really good friend), wanting to be the first to ask, rushed over with a big bag of swedish fish and a note that said "Of all the fish in the sea....I pick you.  Will you go to Prom with me?"

The third boy is in our ward (also a very good friend).  After youth group she went outside to find our car covered in yellow sticky notes.  In the middle in pink sticky notes was the letters P R O M ??  He was standing right by the car, and all the youth in the ward were out there cheering him/them on.  They were taking pictures and videos.....it was really fun!

So, 3rd boy wins for creativity and originality.
1st boy - not a chance she was going with him. (Prom is too special to be asked like that)
She chose to go with boy #2 for several reasons.  (I'm not going to go into that!)

They went out for doughnuts and played mini golf for their day date.

We found the perfect dress - it was a little pricey, but worth it.

One of my very good friends did her hair.

She looked like a P R I N C E S S.

The dances at our high school are gross.   Lots of immodesty & nasty nasty dancing.  Sorry if you like that kind of thing - we don't.

The boys in Akayla's group decided to put on their own P R O M.  (With the help of their very awesome parents!)

They went to the workplace of a couple of the fathers.
Everything was fancy and beautiful.
They ate chicken alfredo & cheesecake.
They danced and had fun.
The boys stood up when one of the girls stepped out.

It was all very M A G I C A L!

Akayla Ferrara & Travis Payne

I totally crack up every time I see this picture and Travis' hidden face!!!  hahahaha!

Hooray for such good kids that Akayla is friends with.  They are awesome people!

good things:
pretty dresses
getting everything on my list done today
the smell of Cascade with lemon

I haven't got to this stage yet, cuz my oldest just turned 15. So I bet I'll be looking to you for advice on all the ins and outs for prom. Thanks for sharing your daughter is beautiful inside and out! Love her dress too!

What a great idea for the boys to host their own Prom! I love the modest rainbow colored dress pic too.
