girls vs. boys

This is not a post about whether I prefer girls or boys.....

but I guess in all honesty I think girls are easier.
(though apparently most people think I'm crazy!)
I just get the way they think, and boys are still a bit of a mystery to me!

It is actually a post about the differences (and it may or may not be an exaggeration) that I have noticed in my teenagers.  I could do another whole post about the differences when they're younger.

Getting ready for the day:

Time needed:
Boy - 15 minutes
Girls - at least 1 hour depending on how they're doing their hair that day

Stuff required:
Boy - shampoo, soap, deodorant, hair gel, comb, underwear, shirt, pants, socks, shoes, cologne, toothpaste & toothbrush
Girls -  special shampoo, conditioner, body wash, loofa, razor, shaving cream, makeup remover, special facewash, moisturizer, deodorant, hand lotion, body lotion, feminine products, anti-frizz serum, hair dryer, curling iron, straightener, round brush, comb, hair spray, poofing spray, cover-up, blush, powder, eyeliner, mascara, eye shadow, lipstick, lipgloss, tweezers, toenail/fingernail clippers, fingernail polish, underwear, undershirt, shirt, scarf or necklace, earrings, flowers/head bands for hair, pants or skirt, socks, 12 pairs of shoes/boots to choose from, body spray, toothpaste, mouthwash, & toothbrush.

Dealing with problems:

Boy - get bugged.... punch something..... over it
Girls -  over-analyze..... cry..... talk to several people...... fret........cry........worry.........write in journal.......read scriptures.........talk to mom about it some more........cry.........deal with issue........cry........hold a slight grudge

Hanging out with friends:

Boy - outside building or destroying, active games (i.e.basketball), or computer/wii inside.
Girls - talk, do nails, experiment with hairstyles, go shopping (anywhere), go to the park, go visit other friends, make cookies, talk some more, play games, play wii, karaoke, watch a movie, go driving, skating, bowling, buy food, go walking, order pizza, Just Dance, do something crafty, or just sit around talking and laughing!

Ok, I could go on and on.

I think what I'm getting at is that girls are a little more complicated than boys.

I do love the differences between them though.

I love the simpleness of my boys - and I love the emotional nature of my girls.

My boys were born making noises of cars,
and anxious to bang on things.

My girls were born loving dollies
and pretty things.

I feel so blessed to be a mother of boys and girls!

They teach me so much every day!

good things:
it's Friday!
a not-so-busy-day today
birthday parties

I love this post Angela!! And I totally agree! Everything you said about boys/girls is completely true! And I also completely agree that girls are easier....which is why I am so glad I finally have one!! Since growing up with all girls made me completely clueless to boys, it's been rather difficult but adventurous to raise them! :) And your girls are so perfect (and your boys too!!) Thanks for posting!!!
