life changing

Many years ago when my husband was just a baby, my mother & father-in-law were searching for truth.

They had been raised by goodly Catholic parents, and they lived good lives.

Missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints came to their door (a few different sets) and taught them about the restored gospel.

It took them a little while to make a decision about whether or not to join this church.

They had gained testimonies and knew it was true, but it must have been very hard to change their lifestyle and leave the religion they grew up with.

I imagine it was hard for their families as well, but over time they came to see that they were still the same people only better.

They raised 6 wonderful children who are all still active members of the church.
4 of those children served full-time missions and shared this wonderful truth with many others who also joined the church.

The oldest son (my amazing husband) teaches religion to many many students who learn and grow stronger in this church, and go out and share the things they have learned -and then start raising good strong families.

That oldest son also has 10 children.
His oldest daughter will soon be going on a mission and sharing this wonderful truth with so many others who are seeking.

Last weekend that oldest daughter was able to meet and have dinner with the missionary who baptized her grandparents.

It was a powerful experience.

We are forever indebted to this man for the sacrifice he made so many years ago (2 years away from family is a huge sacrifice).

It has changed the course of many lives for better.

And it makes the sacrifice of our daughter for 18 months a little easier to bear.
