getting readier....

Shopping with 3 teenage girls is fun and incredibly exhausting..... especially if you're 8 months pregnant.

But I wasn't about to miss out on the fun this year just because I have a bowling ball in my tummy pressing on my bladder and making me feel like my back is breaking!

We have gone to Idaho Falls (about 45 minutes away) for the past few years to do our school shopping because there are so many more options, and because the stores we have in Pocatello are often bigger and better stocked in IF.

We spent about 5 hours walking and looking through stores, and found some great things - and some lousy things too.

Some of the styles these days are just..... so bad!

somehow I only took a couple pictures, so nothing of Corina or our lunch with Tanner - darnit!

When we were finished we decided we needed some sustenance for our drive home, so we stopped at The Cocoa Bean Cupcake shop.

We each chose a flavor, but then we ended up just passing a couple around and taking a bite of each.  (I had to take extra medication for all the sugar I pumped into my body - yikes!)

They were amazing, and we even had leftovers for the next day!

Tanner had refused to go shopping with us (he hates shopping with girls haha!!), so we just picked his clothes out for him.  (He really is not picky at all, and always needs his sisters to help him choose anyway.  He was very happy with the things they chose for him!)

When we got back we picked Tanner up and went out to lunch.

I love the tradition of taking my younger kids out shopping and out to eat, and then taking my older kids.

Everyone gets their own attention, and it's not so overwhelming for me!

One really great thing about shopping with older kids is that they earn all their own money and buy their own things.

One really hard thing about shopping with older kids is that it is just plain difficult to find modest, cute, and affordable clothes for them.

They each have their own style and things they are looking for, and I (sometimes) wish we could just buy everything they want.

But they have to stick with their budget, which sometimes means they have to pick and choose between what they need and what they want.

All in all it was a really great day, and when they did their fashion show for dad he was very impressed with not only their choices, but with the amount of clothes they were able to get with not a lot of money!

good things:
my midwife was very pleased with my blood sugar numbers this week

the thought of being a normal person again

only 2 1/2 weeks left!
